maternity & Pregnancy Photo shoots

First of all a huge congratulations on your imminent new arrival! Here I've gathered together some thoughts and questions I get asked a lot - hopefully it is a handy reference and answers many of your questions but please feel free to reach out with any questions or curiosities you may have - I am always happy to chat!

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

I send out styling advice and have timeless pieces you can borrow in my client wardrobe and always happy to chat through options before or on the day of your maternity photo shoot. The most important is that you feel yourself but there are a few key things that will really help elevate your photographs. Clothing free from busy patterns or logos and neutrals will create a timeless feel. If you are incorporating your partner or siblings into the shoot tonal colours work really well.

Tip! Feel free to send over any outfit ideas ahead of the day so we can chat through and you feel totally comfortable!

WHERE SHOULD WE SHOOT?

As the days get warmer there are lots of lovely outdoor options in and around Oxfordshire and the Cotswolds for a beautiful maternity photo shoot. I have a few ideas up my sleeve. Otherwise at home is so beautiful or if you are visiting the area on a baby moon I am always happy to pop along to your hotel or airBNB to capture this special time with you. I also have the option of my small but perfect space at my home studio.

WHEN SHOULD I BOOK MY MATERNITY PHOTO SHOOT?

One question I get asked probably the most is "when is the best time to book a maternity photo shoot?". The answer is typically between week 28-38 but really from whenever you start to show and this of course varies a lot from woman to woman. You're most likely going to be comfortable and showing during this window but really there is no end limit - I've had the most beautiful maternity shoots on someone's actual due date which was just so special with the anticipation and excitement in the air. If you're worried you've left it too late to book a maternity shoot don't hesitate to get in touch. I'll do my best to find a time and date that works for you.

Tip! If possible choose a time when we will have a chance to reschedule if needed and still have time to capture your bump! It's also good to book once you've had your 20 week scan to ensure you get the date and photographer right for you.
